Your heart rate is higher when you’re bored.
Though you may feel tired and sluggish when bored, you are actually, at a physiological level, in a ‘high arousal’ state with a faster heart rate. In turn, this greater arousal speeds up the brain’s ‘internal clock’, resulting in the perception that more time has passed than actually has.
